RAILWAY STATION

                  Once, in the vacations of Diwali, as we had programmed about, we were going to Kerala. I, my mother and my father got up as early as 5'o'clock in the morning and by  6:30, we reached the railway station to catch our Rajdhani  Express which was timed 7:55 in the morning.

                  As soon as we entered the railway station we saw a crowd of people as big as you cannot imagine. There were 16 platforms on the railway station. Firstly, we had to know that on which platform would our train arrive. There was a big display screen hanging on a wall on platform no.1. There, it was displayed that our train would arrive on platform no. 9. As soon as we heard this news, I picked up my carry bag, the bigger suitcase was held by my father and the smaller one by my mother. Caring the loads like a horse cart, we went towards the fly-over-bridge. after climbing the stairs, we reached the platform no. 9. Finding a bench there, we sat on it.

               I went  to see the tracks, very unclean and unmaintained containing human wastes etc. which created a foul smell. There were so many houseflies around there.On the other hand, there were red hooded coolies picking and moving some loads on their shoulders. I heard the microphone. It stated after the particular beep, "Passengers please pay attention, The Delhi-Trivendrum Rajdhani express is running late by 2 hours. It will reach here at 9:55 am. "Oh no! 2 hours late!" As we were bored of the foul smell, the crowd, the noise of microphone etc, we went to the waiting room.

             After sitting there for some time, I felt a bit hungry. Therefore, to put something in my empty stomach, I went outside to the snacks shop and bought some chips and sandwich and ate it. There I saw a Rajdhani Express train arriving. I suddenly looked at the clock and saw, the time was just 9!. But what of the train!. Suddenly I heard the announcement, "passengers please pay attention, The Delhi-Guwahati Rajdhani Express is arriving on platform no. 9". To my sigh of relief, It was not my train!.

            I went to the waiting room and waited there for some more time. Then we went outside to wait for our train. At 10, our train arrived. Our coach was F3 and thus got inside the train and settled at our seat.

કોઇ પ્રદેશ ગુજરાત બરાબર ન બન્યું;

ભિંડો કહે વડ ને, “તમે કેમ અહિં આવિ ગયા ? ;
વડલા ભાઇ તો ત્યરે ચુપ જ રહિ ગયા;
ભિંડા જડ થિ સુકાઇ ગયા;

A Bottle of Thums-Up

I taste the thunder by opening the cork;
It is even more delicious than beef-pork.

When I drink the thunder and cheer;
I thing that why people drink beer.

It wipes far all of my tears;
It blasts of all of my fears.

When I drink the thundering thums-up;
It refreshes and makes my soul wake-up.

When I drink the thunder chilled;
I find my sadness and dullness killed.

I kiss the thunder with my lips and drink;

“It is the best ever drink”, is what I think.

Out in the rain

On a day of the monsoon season, I had gone to my school. It was no atmosphere’s mood till about 8:30 in the morning to throw water on earth. At about 8:30, the atmosphere was slowly getting clouded and preparing for a heavy rain. When we look outside in the ground, we feel as if the universal clock has gulped 11 hours and went from am to pm. The time was 8:30 am and looked as if it is 7:30 pm!  Such dark became the atmosphere. Each minute, the darkness increased! We thought that it at all the darkness continues at the same rate then they will have to switch the street lights!
We all were enjoying this sort of atmosphere when our Headmaster of the school came to our class to inform us that by 9:30, we will have been released from the school! And the same happened. Thus, we had been removed from the shelter and left on the road. As if the rain had an intention to harass us, it just started as soon as we were on road. It was raining cats & dogs. And it was thundering like anything. I went on to the place where everyday my school van waits for us, though in the mind, I knew that it wouldn't have come because the driver would not have any idea about it. And, as expected, the school van was not present. This was not only limited to me, but even the other students had the same thing because none of the vans had arrived by then. Firstly I stood with my mates and friends, but some of them lived nearby, so they had gone away after some time. Now, I went here and there and found my van mate and then another one. Thus, we three together waited for the van. After some time of walking here and there, all our van mates were gathered together at a place beneath a plastic roof and waited.

It was 9:30 when we came out and at 10:30- after an hour of bathing under the rain, finally it was a pleasure for my eyes to see the van coming towards us. Thus I sat inside the van after such a wonderful but hard experience and at 11:00, I reached my home.
